The most frequently used Boolean operator is the OR operator. OR is commonly used in SIC, ZIP, and phone fields to search multiple criteria. Using the OR operator will display all listings that match either the first criterion OR the second criterion.
You can specify an OR search by using the word ".or." You may also use the pipe key ( | ) located above the return key on your keyboard. This would be the operator to use if you are searching for everybody in more than one ZIP code, or in more than one area code, or in more than one SIC code.
For Example, if in the telephone field you type:
508|617
The search will return a complete list of everyone who lives in either the 508 or the 617 area code.
